How Billing Works

All of your utilities, one bill.

We take immense pride in our billing engine, which sets us apart in the dynamic realm of Utilities and Telecoms, offering you unmatched convenience. With no parallel in the industry, you’ll undoubtedly be curious about its functionality. Here’s a concise overview.

How it works.

Our billing occurs on a monthly basis. Your payment corresponds to the essential services utilised in the current month or those used in the previous month.

Typically, we produce your bill around the 10th of the month and deliver it via email or by post, based on your chosen preference during registration (if you wish to modify your bill delivery method, a simple call to our customer service team will sort this for you).

Following this, we will promptly process your Direct Debit for the sum indicated on your bill.

Electricity

Start/End Read – These figures display your meter reading at the beginning and conclusion of the month. If followed by an E, it indicates we’re approximating your bills, prompting you to provide a meter reading to ensure accurate billing.

Units – The quantity of electricity utilised during the month.

Standing charge – The daily cost for maintaining your electricity service.

Rate – The rate established upon your switch.

Gas

Gas costs are shown on your bill in a very similar way as the above.

Previous / Present – The same as the start/end read as shown above.

kWh – This is the units of gas you have used in the month. Further insight into how we derive your Unit consumption is available on your bill.

Water

Water Fixed Charges – These are recurring charges applicable daily for your water services. The total is determined by the Rate multiplied by the number of days within the billing duration.

Water Volumetric Charges – This relates to the Units consumed, the applicable Unit Charge, and the overall cost (Units x Charge).

Waste Volumetric Charges and Waste Fixed Charges work the same as above.

Drainage Charges – Standing charges with a set rate, then multiplied by the length of the billing duration.

Scotland and England Water Charges are different due to differentiation in the way we calculate them.
